Lead application technology in a team of chemists, technicians and process engineers to develop novel silane coupling agents (specialty chemicals) as reinforcing agents for tire compounds.
Develop application know-how for NXT*, NXT LowV, and NXT Z silane coupling agents that improve the processing of tire tread compounds and result in better environmental and on-road performance (fuel economy, traction and wear) of tires.
Provide technical support for development of new/modified polymer systems for applications in other business units, viz. thermoplastics pipes, clear-coats in automotive, adhesives in construction, shoe sole and industrial rubber products.
Create and manage an IB (Imagination Breakthrough) database with key customer and technology information. Introduce new products at Tire expositions, customers worldwide and lead technical discussions on product applicability. Provide technical expertise and assistance in commercialization efforts including tire building and road tests.
Provide expertise to and work with a consulting company to build cost models and value equations for new products and conduct future market analyses. Monitor competitor activities, intellectual property and new technology landscape.
